Reviv Infusion Therapy, A New Health And Wellness Industry

Following my article in July, IV Infusion Therapy, Another Passing Trend Or Here To Stay?, I received a flood of emails and interest regarding the subject of Infusion Therapy. I immediately knew that I had to try Infusion Therapy for myself, and report back on my experience.

I promptly began my research, and knew without a doubt I would want my first Infusion Therapy experience to be at Reviv in South Beach. I previously had the opportunity to speak with Dr. Johnny Parvani who is a Board Certified Emergency Room Physician, as well as a co-founder and one of the five owners of Reviv. I was extremely interested in Reviv based on the fact it was a hydration MedSpa dedicated to the restoration of wellness and balance. Additionally, Reviv applies Western medicine to an Eastern medical philosophy of equilibrium. Being that I am always striving to be the healthiest I can be, I knew we shared in a similar philosophy.

Last Friday I awoke to a low temperature and knew I was fighting off a bug. However, I also knew I wanted to experience Reviv that same weekend and thought their services may be able to help me. By Saturday morning, the day I planned on experiencing Reviv, I had already pumped myself full of Azithromycin and Tylenol. Unfortunately, none of the medication worked, so I was willing to try anything that may help alleviate my discomfort. That afternoon, feeling even worst than the day before, I pulled myself together and Chris, Lola and I headed to Reviv. Luckily, Reviv was only two blocks away, as it is located directly off of Washington Avenue. As we walked inside Reviv, Dr. Parvani and two licensed Paramedics, Summer and Rainier greeted us.  I have to admit, I was extremely impressed with the esthetic of the MedSpa.  Everything was very clean, sleek and modern.  There was an oxygen bar to my immediate left, and to the right of the oxygen bar was a beautiful open seating area with a large plasma TV. I later learned that groups of people, including bachelor/bachelorette parties and groups of friends enjoy their treatments together in this area while watching the game or favorite television show. As I made my way further down the hallway, I noticed several different “private” rooms which were equipped with a top of the line massage chair, IV pole, sleek glass table and iPad. At the end of the hallway was a larger room, a “couples” room. This room was equipped with two massage chairs, two IV poles, a sleek glass table and two iPads.

Upon my completion of the tour, Dr. Parvani walked us to the front of the MedSpa and began answering our questions and providing us with a detailed overview of all the Reviv services. At this point, I hadn’t decided which Infusion I would be trying, and had several questions about the procedure. Dr. Parvani kindly, patiently and thoroughly explained that there are three main infusions offered at Reviv, the Hydramax Infusion, MegaBoost Infusion and UltraVive Infusion. The Hydramax Infusion is ideal before or after strenuous activity, such as working out, boxing or a marathon. The Hydramax Infusion helps to restore electrolytes, flushes out toxins and alleviates muscle cramps. The MegaBoost Infusion is the perfect Infusion to help fight illness or fatigue, as it helps to eliminate stress and free radicals while boosting the immune system, and consists of saline and multivitamins. Last but certainly not least, the UltraVive Infusion caters to those that have spent the prior night partying and maybe drinking a bit too much. The UltraVive Infusion combines saline, multivitamins and medications that help your body to recover and fight the effects of acid reflux, fatigue, nausea and headaches. Basically, a bad hangover. There is an additional Infusion offered that is equally as brilliant, it is the Sunburn Infusion. The Sunburn Infusion is a specially formulated Infusion that combines saline and anti inflammatory medication that reduces inflammation, dehydration and irritation. I could have benefited from this infusion on numerous occasions, including many vacations that I wasted lying in bed crying out in pain with a terrible sunburn. In addition to the IV Infusions, Reviv offers oral Infusions for those that are scared of needles, a full oxygen bar, Vitamin B-12 injections and B-12 Slim Boost injections.  Dr. Parvani proceeded to elaborate on Infusion Therapy. ” As Emergency Room Physicians we do this literally daily in the ER, except we don’t usually pamper our patients with freeze sprays, massage chairs, iPads… But this truly is the best medically available method to aid in the restoration of the body’s balance”. “Our goal is to help our clients maximize productivity and the way they feel and look”.

After touring the MedSpa and receiving a detailed overview of all Reviv services, I informed Dr. Parvani that I hadn’t been feeling well.  He immediately knew that the MegaBoost Infusion would be best suited for me, and proceeded to the back to prepare my Infusion.  I was directed to the first room behind the front desk. The very kind and funny Rainier took my vital statistics, asked me standard medical questions and then my IV was started. For the first time ever I experienced a freeze spray prior to the insertion of my IV. I had never heard of this, and wish I had, especially while I was pregnant and having blood drawn each week. The freeze spray was applied to my arm and  I couldn’t feel a thing…absolutely nothing. This spray completely alleviated any pain associated with a needle stick. Next, I was walked into the “couples” room, as Chris would soon be joining me. Dr. Parvani provided me with an iPad, bottle of Reviv water and showed me how to operate the absolutely amazing massage chair. As I opened up the iPad case and searched Pandora for Coldplay, the music began to radiate through my headphones and my massage chair reclined and began massaging me. Heaven. Let me just say, this massage chair is like none that I had ever experienced before, and I have experienced my fair share. I have been known to frequent Brookstone while at the mall and relax for twenty minutes while being massaged. But this chair, well this chair is in a league of its own. I was massaged from the bottom of my toes to the top of my head. In fact, it was better than many of the massages I have received while living in Miami. Chris soon walked into the room accompanied by Rainier. He was seated in the massage chair next to me, the IV was hung on the silver post next to his chair and he was handed his own iPad. I watched as Chris smiled in enjoyment. He was thrilled to have the next hour to himself and free of worry. No nagging from me, no nagging from Lola, just his own personal relaxation time while he thanked his body with an Infusion.  Over the next hour, Chris and I were massaged while listening to the music of our choice, and our bodies were replenished. Occasionally, I would check Facebook, email or look to Chris to see if he had fallen asleep.  After an hour of pure bliss, the IV Infusion bag had emptied and Summer entered our room to remove the IV.  Again, there was no pain and we didn’t feel a pinch.  Chris and I both immediately remarked on how rehydrated, refreshed and replenished we felt.  I can say with confidence that I was more hydrated than I had been in a very long time, and it felt wonderful.

The morning after my Infusion, I awoke feeling absolutely wonderful.  No fever, no aching, no stuffiness, the illness was GONE.  In fact, I felt better than I had in months.  Reviv Infusion Therapy was no joke, and I was living proof that it works!  Immediately I asked Chris how he was feeling.  Before I could even get the words out, he interrupted me telling me how great he felt and how extremely hydrated he still was.  We were so impressed with the results that we began planning our next trip to Reviv.  It was incredibly impressive that one relaxing hour of our day at Reviv dramatically changed how we felt, and got me through the illness I was developing.  It was very evident that this is not another passing trend, but a new industry that is here to stay.

So if you feel that you are coming down with a “bug”, have a bad hangover, working out hard, sunburned, dehydrated or just looking for some relaxation, Reviv is your answer.  Currently, Reviv is running a $99 special for all Infusions.  If you don’t live in Miami, but want to try Reviv, not to worry. Reviv will soon be opening MedSpa’s in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York and South America.  Even better, if you don’t want to leave your home or hotel, Reviv will come to you.

  1. Thanks for the review. I recently read about this and have been interested in trying. I live in Ft. Lauderdale and will definitely be trying. If I could choose an infusion it would be the Ultra Vive because it would come in handy after a long night with my friends. The hydramax would also be good for me because I work out daily and become dehydrated very easily.

  2. This is a great idea! I will defintely try revive, not only to flush out the toxins, but after working out to hydrate. Revive is something that I will enjoy!

    Thanks,

    Mark

  3. What a great article! I have been wanting to try this. I could see incorporating this into my lifestyle on a regular basis. I would choose the MegaBoost infusion as I’m always looking for a creative and healthy way to better my lifestyle. I also entered via email.
